±«Óãtv's top competitive programming team came out on top at the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC) Central Plains Region Programming Contest on Saturday, April 2, at Missouri Western State University.

The ±«Óãtv Department of Music presents a Chamber Orchestra concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 in the Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Center on the ±«Óãtv campus.

Skinkle named new provost at ±«Óãtv

±«Óãtv has selected Lee Skinkle, Ph.D., as its next provost, effective June 1. As provost, Skinkle will be the university's chief academic officer, providing visionary leadership and direction for all academic areas.

The ±«Óãtv Department of Music will present a chamber music recital featuring ±«Óãtv faculty and guest artists at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, in Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Center.

C. Pat Run 5K is April 16; community welcome

The ±«Óãtv Student Association is hosting the fourth annual C. Pat Run 5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 23. The race begins and ends on the ±«Óãtv campus.

±«Óãtv reaccredited by Higher Learning Commission

±«Óãtv was approved for continued accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission, the University's regional accrediting body, March 21.

Ten ±«Óãtv CIS students qualify for PBL nationals

Ten students in ±«Óãtv's Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department prequalified from state-level competitions to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference taking place June 24-27 in Atlanta, Ga. ±«Óãtv and University of Missouri had more students qualify for the national competition than any other Missouri universities.

Legacy of ±«Óãtv's First Lady, Judy Taylor, celebrated

About 1,000 students, alumni, staff and friends of ±«Óãtv gathered March 30 in ±«Óãtv's Mabee Chapel to honor the life of Judy Taylor, wife of ±«Óãtv President Dr. C. Pat Taylor. Together, they are the longest-serving president and first lady in the University's 138-year history. She passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Bolivar, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service to the kingdom and the University.
