The ±«Óătv Department of Music presents the Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in Pike Auditorium on the ±«Óătv campus.
âThe musical program for this performance features well-known wind band works written by world-class composers,â said conductor Dr. Brian Hopwood, professor of music and director of instrumental studies. âThe pieces by Vincent Persichetti (âDivertimentoâ) and Gustav Holst (âFirst Suite in E-Flatâ) are cornerstone works of the repertoire. Clifton Williamsâ âThe Sinfoniansâ is a classic representative of the concert march style and âHold This Boy and Listenâ is a new addition to the ever-expanding wind band repertoire by award-winning composer Carter Pann.â
The Percussion Ensemble is conducted by Marc Baker, percussion faculty associate.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Hopwood at (417) 328-1647 or bhopwood@±«Óătvniv.edu.
