±«Óătv Theatre to present "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" on March 7-9

Joel Walley and Bethany Vermillion rehearse a scene from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."BOLIVAR, Mo. – ±«Óătv’s theatre department will present the musical comedy “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” by Clark Gesner at 7 p.m., March 7-9 in the Davis-Newport Theater on the Bolivar campus.

Based on Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip, the characters come to life on stage in a series of vignettes which mimic their comic book origins. The play follows Charlie Brown and his friends as they discover how happiness is found in the little moments we often take for granted – from flying a kite, to the baseball field, to finally kicking that football.

This typical day in the life of Charlie Brown and his friends will resonate with young and old alike.

“Sometimes it's good to know that happiness can take many forms, like finding a pencil or having some ice cream,” said Jonathan Wehmeyer, director and instructor of theatre at ±«Óătv. “‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’ shows us that happiness is being with the people you love.”
