Speaking Bearcats dominate in Fall season finale
The ±«Óãtv Speaking Bearcats finished the fall portion of their season with a dominating performance at the Cameron Christmas Classic on Dec. 1-2 at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla. The Speaking Bearcats finished first in overall sweepstakes, second in debate sweepstakes and first in individual events sweepstakes.
±«Óãtv math faculty present at MCTM Conference
±«Óãtv's Dr. Bob Glasgow, professor of mathematics, Ms. Alex Archer, instructor of mathematics, and Becca Altic, senior mathematics major from Pleasant Hope, recently presented at the Fall Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in Columbia.
±«Óãtv graduates 82 students in Bolivar ceremony
Eighty-two undergraduate students graduated from ±«Óãtv during commencement Friday, Dec. 15, at the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus. The University holds graduation twice a year, in December and May.
±«Óãtv Honors Program students present Capstone projects
Six students in ±«Óãtv's Gordon & Judy Dutile Honors Program presented their Senior Honors Capstone Experience projects during an open house Dec. 5. Students are admitted to the Honors Program before their freshman year through a competitive process. The program includes nine honors-specific courses designed to provide scholastic enrichment and opportunities for practical application and professional development.

Wright, Bowling named ±«Óãtv Life Beautiful Award recipients
Rebekah Wright, assistant director for digital marketing, and Dr. Steve Bowling, associate professor of mathematics, received the Staff and Faculty Life Beautiful Awards during the annual employee Christmas banquet Dec. 7 at ±«Óãtv.

±«Óãtv honors employees for years of service
±«Óãtv honored employees with employment anniversary milestones, beginning with five years, during the annual employee Christmas banquet Dec. 7. The employees recognized have given a total of 630 years of service to ±«Óãtv.
Skobel receives ±«Óãtv Library Award
±«Óãtv student Victoria Skobel of Mount Vernon, Ill., was honored by the ±«Óãtv University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for October 2017.
More than 200 students to graduate at ±«Óãtv winter commencement ceremonies
±«Óãtv is set to graduate 218 students at two winter 2017 commencement ceremonies. The Bolivar campus will hold commencement at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center. The Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of ±«Óãtv will hold winter commencement at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Second Baptist Church in Springfield.
