BOLIVAR, Mo. – ±«Óătv recently hosted visiting faculty from
China, who are studying at Missouri State University.
Dr. Gilbert Brown (second row, fifth from left) teaches in a program at MSU called “Perspectives in American Higher Education.” The students in the program, who represent a variety of disciplines, are in the United States for two semesters to complete the 9-hour program. As part of the course with Dr. Brown, the students visit several institutions of various types, and were interested in a faith-based setting.
Dr. Allison Langford, associate provost for teaching and learning at ±«Óătv, led a presentation on the faith, history, governance, funding and student characteristics at ±«Óătv. The 19 visiting faculty met with eight ±«Óătv faculty peers in their disciplines, representing the departments of biology, business administration, education, communication arts, language and literature. The visit also included a campus tour and lunch.
